FAT LAVA Planter “Strehla”
Reliable shipping
Flexible returns
This is a pot cover made by the East German pottery manufacturer Strehla.
It is surrounded by cute illustrations of flowers and ivy.
The pale color is not typical of FAT LAVA, but I think it's a good design.
*There is a chip on the bottom of the pot. Please see the photo.
Brand
[FAT LAVA]
Ceramic products that were actively produced in various parts of Germany in the 1950s-1970s.
As it is called FAT LAVA, it has a texture that resembles molten and solidified lava.
At that time, there were many pottery manufacturers, each selling pottery products with a variety of designs.
The attractive use of glaze and timeless design are popular all over the world.
[Strehla]
The company was founded in the 1820s in the town of Strehla in Saxony, and the manufacturer's name was taken from the town name.
After World War II, Saxony became part of East Germany and remained under Communist rule until the late 1980s.
Many East German products have a conservative impression, but Strehla's products tend to have a brighter impression, similar to West German FAT LAVA.
